IPTV could help ISPs against mobile broadband
by David Allen

In a recent report from the telecom regulator, Ofcom, it was found that mobile broadband has been steadily growing over the past couple of years.
Yet they were not talking about users who find that mobile broadband is a handy tool for when they are out, these are users who have no fixed line broadband access at all.
In 2007 mobile broadband-only households accounted for fifteen per cent of homes, and this is set to rise significantly for 2008.
This means that fixed line broadband providers are going to have to do something special in order to stop users jumping ship to mobile broadband.
One such feature that has been proven elsewhere around the world is the introduction of IPTV.
This service can be bundled into the packages that ISPs offer and offering additional services is the only way that ISPs can stop their customers from switching to other services like mobile broadband.
