BT sees increase in Wi-Fi use

BT Openzone have announced that Wi-Fi usage through their network has almost doubled during the period between April and September of this year, compared to the figures that the company had previously released.

BT provides around eight thousand hotspots through BT FON, which uses its five thousand members to share their broadband connection as a wireless hotspot and BT Openzone who manage over three thousand hotspots.

Even though they recently lost access to the “Cloud”, BT customers can still access over a hundred and twenty thousand hotspots nationwide.

In September BT reached the landmark figure of ten million Wi-Fi minutes in one week, however the average is around eight million minutes per week.
