The London Internet Exchange (LINX) is a peering organisation run as a not for profit firm.
They have recently signed up their 300th member, which makes them the largest internet exchange point in the entire world with members coming from over forty five countries.
LINX have signed up over fifty new members during the past year.
Mainly internet service providers and content service providers make up the membership, and each member has an equal vote in managing the organisation.
The organisation has over six hundred connected Ethernet ports, with a hundred and forty running at the maximum speed of 10 GigE; this enables the traffic to reach the equivalent of 660,000 simultaneous internet video streams.
