Amazon Mp3 starts off quietly
by David Allen

Amazon have quietly launched their Mp3 music store in the UK. There were no fanfares, big PR campaigns or even just an advert or two.
Yet this quiet launch has taken on a life of its own and it will not be long before the Amazon service is the talk of all music buyers, especially as they are selling full albums from such artists as Take That, Coldplay and the Kings of Leon for just £3.
At these prices word will soon get around and the likes of Apple iTunes, the Nokia Music store and Napster will have to take notice and react accordingly, in fact Apple iTunes have already dropped their album prices to £4.
Single tracks are also available, but the prices of these are in line with the internet price range of 59p to 89p.
