Broadband users unhappy with price

Jan Harris

ISPreview.co.uk recently surveyed over 800 of its readers and found that over half of them thought that their ISP was too expensive.

In view of the fact that an earlier survey by the same site found that a quarter of broadband users planned to move to a different ISP at the end of their contract, it seems that there is quite a high level of dissatisfaction with broadband services in the UK.

Some of the dissatisfaction could be to do with consumers being confused by the wide range of deals available, which can make pricing less transparent.

For instance it can seem cheaper to buy bundled services than standalone products, but if you only use your mobile for emergencies, it might not be cost effective to include it in your broadband package.

Some packages advertise what looks like a very attractive headline rate, but there could be costs that aren’t immediately obvious, such as line rental.

There are some broadband bargains out there, but it certainly pays to weigh up all the options carefully before choosing a package.
