Police get ok to hack
by David Allen

The Home Office is to approve the remote access of computers by the police, as part of a strategy currently under review in the European Union, where the authorities are allowed or even encouraged to hack into people’s computers.
All this can be done without the need for court orders or warrants, sparking fears that there could be specialist units created who can spy on people without their knowledge.
Currently there are some operations which utilise these skills.
Under UK law the police are already allowed to access computers by these methods under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, which allows this type of surveillance in order to prevent serious crimes from being committed.

Hmmm, so they can send us malware, I have had quite a few emails blocked saying:
“Someone tried to send you a potential virus or unauthorised code” maybe they are after me already.
On a serious not this is absolutely shocking, do we really want to live in a police state? It seems like the dosy British public do.
Maybe someone should challenge hackers to snoop on all the police computers and the idiots from the EU that suggested this
