In an effort to improve communication throughout the workplace and cut unnecessary costs, Aastra Technologies has made improvements to its Virtual Presence (ViPr) and its overall efficiency in handling video conferencing.
The additions to ViPr are security improvements known as Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), which will encrypt media streams and integrate with Microsoft Live Meeting.
Specifically, ViPr will allow more secure sharing of files, applications and multi-media content.
It features a touch screen and can also be used as a desktop monitor, and phone and conference screen.
The improvements to ViPr were also made by Aastra Technologies with the hopes of eliminating the extra infrastructure needed to accommodate multiparty calls.
It is the first SIP-based video system that integrates into any IP system.
The system looks to accommodate larger companies and enhance overall communication in larger environments.
For their efforts in the additions to the ViPr and other advances, Aastra Technologies was given the Growth Strategy Leadership Award by industry analyst Frost & Sullivan.
The Growth Strategy Leadership Award is a European communications award given to a company in recognition of their strategy for growth within a specific industry.
The company has seen ten years of consistent profits.
