Bablegum and Joost join against Kangaroo

January 8, 2009

The joint venture between the BBC, ITV and Channel Four, known as Kangaroo, has been dealt another severe blow in its attempt to survive the Competition Commission’s investigation into whether the project is fair or not.

Other content providers feel that Kangaroo will restrict competition, and in order to create a greater impact at the appeal Joost and Bablegum appear to have joined forces.

The argument is that the partners in Kangaroo already have a steady platform from which to offer online content, and allowing this joint venture to go ahead would be harmful to other content providers such as Joost and Bablegum, who have both had their own problems in providing a full service.
