Simon Bransfield-Garth was named new CEO for the start-up voice-security company Cellcrypt on Wednesday, and immediately announced plans to focus much time and energy and developing voice encryption solutions for governments and enterprises.
In its short history, Cellcrypt has become a leading supplier in the UK of voice-security systems for cellular phones and other voice communications technology.
Bransfield-Garth apparently was selected because his own personal history fits in well with Cellcrypt’s overall vision.
The new CEO has spent more than 20 years working with tech-based corporations.
During that time, he spent several years within the mobile communications industry.
He recently finished a tenure as CarrierIQ’s Chief Marketing Officer, and before that, Vice President of Global Marketing for Symbian.
Bransfield-Garth is a Cambridge graduate, where he earned his PhD.
He’s also a former General Manager for PI Technology, where he delved into security technology, working to develop embedded software for automobiles.
Cellcrypt expressed optimism for Bransfield-Garth’s vision to develop the firm’s encryption technology.
Back in May, they made public their new system that they hope will resolve the problem many companies have with insecure cellular phone calls.
According to Cellcrypt representatives, more and more companies and government agencies are concerned about the possibility of people finding ways to snoop on private phone calls.
This normally is the result either of someone deliberately breaking the GSM encryption system, or by pulling in the call’s signal after it has left the base station and made it inside the network. (read Here)
Cellcrypt says that under Bransfield-Garth’s leadership, they are confident they can remain the leading firm that helps companies and governments overcome this danger.
