A new and exciting Wi-Fi project has been deployed in Manchester, which will allow businesses and individuals to be connected without the need for a telephone line or mobile broadband service.
Eye WiMax has been launched in the Old Trafford area and has already got four hundred customers who found the service through word of mouth.
The provider plans to expand the service to take in the entire city.
Offering high speed broadband without the restrictions of fixed line broadband is cost effective, and can offer approximately four times the speed of fixed line broadband.
The system relies on base stations being deployed around the areas that the provider needs to cover.
Once the investment and work has been done, Manchester could become the first city in the UK to become fully Wi-Fi enabled.
