Social interaction service Nimbuzz has won a Red Herring Global 100 award, recognising it as one of the top 100 tech start ups in the world.

It is the first aggregated mobile messenger company to receive this award.

Award winners are chosen by Red Herring’s editorial team on the basis of both qualitative and quantitative criteria, such as financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy, and ecosystem integration.

Past winners of the award include Google, Yahoo!, Skype, and YouTube.

Nimbuzz integrates instant messaging, location sharing, VoIP and file sharing into a single application.

It is available for mobile and PC download, and as a web application.

Communities on Nimbuzz include Skype, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, GoogleTalk, AIM, GaduGadu, Jabber, Twitter, and 23 social networks, including Facebook and MySpace.

Its services are so popular that 20,000 new users are signing up every day.
