fring is going full steam ahead with its development, and has now announced the launch of a Last.fm music radio add-on.
The launch is part of the company’s plan to offer more than aggregation and internet communication tools, by providing services that allow friends to enjoy mobile experiences together.
The latest add-on allows fring members to launch the mobile-optimised version of Last.fm inside the fring client.
They can then tune and listen to streamed music radio channels, including their own Last.fm library.
They can tag their favourite tracks, and view album artwork, with complete access to their Last.fm music account while on the move.
The application brings fring’s existing social and communication capabilities into the Last.fm music experience, allowing users to view in real-time what their friends are currently listening to, via a friends list.
Fring users can then share their music experience and communicate via fring’s communication services such as Skype, MSN® Messenger, GoogleTalk, Yahoo!, AIM and ICQ, from inside the Last.fm add-on experience.
Avi Shechter, fring co-founder & CEO said: “By combining Community, Experience and Communication in one unified offering, applied to a range of user interests, we are providing a compelling case for mobile internet in general and creating the potential for turning the mobile into the ultimate social device, capable of offering unique benefits, beyond what is even possible in the fixed PC environment.”
