Only a couple of weeks after introducing the concept of 3D TV, BSkyB is preparing to launch Sky 3DTV with a couple of years.
This comes after a hundred and fifty million pairs of 3D specs were issued free of charge to Superbowl fans at the weekend, just so they could watch the adverts in 3D during the breaks.
The technology is complex and will require a new TV, set top box (but that will depend on type) and the regulation 3D specs.
However, they look like getting to the stage where the technology is ready to be rolled out.
Of course, initially the prices will be high, but then again the cost of HD television sets were high when they first came out, as was the cost of a satellite system in the early days of satellite in the late nineties.
