Broadband usage increased on Snowy Monday
by David Allen

With almost six million people taking the day off work because of the snow, it was the internet that had to take the strain as workers logged on at home to do their work.
Those workers who do not have the luxury of being able to work from home, added to the traffic, as instead of sitting around watching TV, or going outside and building snowmen, they surfed the net.
In fact broadband usage increased by twenty per cent on snowy Monday.
The internet service provider, Plusnet, claims that remote working doubled on its network on Monday.
This is known because the use of VPN, Remote Desktop, SSH and VNC applications can be monitored.
Standard HTTP traffic also increased slightly.
