News Corp losses could mean UK job cuts
by David Allen

Despite the welcome news that BSkyB will be creating around a thousand jobs in its marketing and engineering divisions, losses for News Corp which owns a thirty nine per cent holding in BSkyB, could mean job cuts, according to Chairman Rupert Murdoch.
There has been no indication where these possible job cuts could be coming from, but he did say that the reason is the grim economic climate.
In the US there have been cuts in the newsroom of the Wall Street Journal, and it would seem likely that cuts could follow over here in the UK.
An announcement on how News Corp holdings’ UK workforce will be affected is due sometime next week.
