BBC Trustees allowed to claim for satellite TV
by David Allen

The expenses for the chairman of the BBC Trust have been released for public viewing and they make interesting reading, especially as the total expenses for the last seventeen months totalled £61,293.
One interesting point is that BBC Trust members are allowed to claim for satellite television subscriptions and equipment.
In fact, in total, expenses for the twelve Trust members, just for accommodation, food, travel and satellite TV subscriptions, came to £93,504 for six months.
This is despite another expense claim classed as “other expenditure” which came out at a total of £2,027 for the six months period to September.
What is fascinating about this claim is that it was for satellite TV subscriptions, audio visual equipment and office supplies.
