Sky extends Ashes contract

It looks as if Sky Sports are having a good time at the moment – first they snatched an extra package of Premier League football matches and now they have confirmed that Sky Sports has won the broadcast rights for the next Ashes Tour in Australia.

This deal means that Sky Sports will be broadcasting live the five Test matches taking place this summer, the winter tour starting in 2010 and the 2013 series, when cricket returns to the UK.

This deal will also see Sky Sports showing every Australian international cricket match.

These will include the one day series against England and other test matches such as the ones against the West Indies, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

It looks as if the only the place to watch live international cricket up to 2013 will be on satellite TV.
