The face of the world’s High Streets could be changing if Microsoft has anything to with it, as the company it going to try again to enter the retail sector, as Apple has done so successfully.
These stores will be selling PC brand computers, Windows Mobile products and of course software.
Clearly the stores will start off in the US, but if successful this idea could quite easily catch on fast and with property values at low levels, there are plenty of retail spaces to choose from.
Industry experts are taking a close look at the plan and feel it is a tentative move to gauge the market, rather than an all out retail offensive.
This is because the market conditions are not right for a massive retail expansion programme.
With Windows 7 being prepared for launch, what better place to demonstrate and sell this operating system than in a Microsoft Store.
