Microsoft to launch Marketplace

It looks as if software giant Microsoft has finally seen the light and decided to follow in the very successful footsteps of Apple.

First it announced that it will be opening retail outlets to sell its products and now there is the Windows Marketplace where applications can be bought online.

Windows Marketplace will be available through Microsoft’s brand new Windows phones and will be launching sometime during the final quarter of 2009, just in time for the seasonal rush.

Nobody can deny the success that Apple has seen with the AppStore and it is only natural that competitors will be following this success with their own versions of this online retail outlet.

As with Apple, Microsoft will be relying on brand loyalty to help it get through the early stages of the launch.

Despite what people say, Microsoft does have a large following, which it intends to use.
