Neptuny extends Caplan capabilities

At the next VM World Europe in Cannes, 24th-26th February 2009, Neptuny will present new capabilities of its flagship product Caplan, which enables customers to safely consolidate and rationalize their data centers while coping with heterogeneous environments, business constraints and IT processes.

Caplan is the business-aware Capacity Planning solution for large data centers and networks that can associate capacity needs to measurable business data.

It enables a structured and automated Capacity Management process encompassing the whole IT environment, including both physical and virtual servers, networks, storage, databases and facilities.

Caplan is the only solution on the market that does not require guru expertise and that can be easily integrated into other ITSM processes.

The product supports consolidation and Capacity Management initiatives for environments based on different virtualization technologies, including VMWare ESX, AIX LPARs, Solaris LDOMs and Zones.

Caplan enables customers to easily identify the best candidates and target servers, to define the optimal allocation of resources and it assigns the appropriate resources (e.g. number of virtual CPU cores, allocated memory, reserved/share/limit for virtual CPU and memory), whilst respecting both technical and business constraints.
