According to a recent study, snom technology’s VoIP telephones are the most efficient in terms of power consumption.

The study, by the Research Group for Telecommunication Networks at the Frankfurt am Main University of Applied Sciences, involved testing 23 VoIP telephones from major manufacturers.

It looked at power consumption in idle mode, during conversations, idle mode after a conversation, during a three-way conference.

Snom’s telephones were shown to be the most energy efficient in each comparable product class.

As well as providing obvious cost savings, the telephones can contribute towards a green IT strategy.

Dusan Aleksis, the head of hardware development at snom, said: “When developing our telephones we have always attached great importance to implementing sophisticated technology in an energy-efficient manner. It has always been an important goal of our development activities to keep the power consumption of the phone sets as low as possible.”

Snom’s rapid growth in the VoIP sector has been recognised for the last two years in the Deloitte Fast 50 Award.
