Currently there are limited restrictions on the placing of satellite dishes and there can be issues for people who rent their homes from private property owners and some local authorities.
It seems that some property owners are not allowing their tenants to place a satellite dish on the building.
Clearly, this is going to be a problem with the digital switchover in full swing and working its way around the country.
There would appear to be a solution to this – the German satellite equipment manufacturer Technisat has produced a dish that looks like a patio chair.
All the user has to do is position the seat dish in the correct position and connect it for full satellite coverage.
No planning or landlord permission is required, as after all it is only a chair.
