Despite the push for Digital Britain by the Communications Minister, Lord Carter, it seems that not all internet users are using a broadband connection.
According to figures released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) around five per cent of internet users are still using Dial Up.
Back in September 08 the figure was around six per cent, but this had fallen by the end of December 08 to five per cent, indicating that the day of Dial Up internet access could finally be coming to an end.
However, the data does not take into consideration those users who do not want a broadband internet connection.
Eventually they are going to have to make the jump, but in the meantime it looks like some internet users are sticking to Dial Up either through choice or necessity.
