More than eighty per cent of the UK’s internet users are concerned about their privacy while they are using the internet, according to survey from the advertising company Burst Media.
This is a particular concern for older users with eighty-five per cent of internet users over the age of fifty five saying that they were worried, while of those users aged between eighteen and twenty four only sixty seven per cent were concerned.
A lot of these concerns come from high profile cases, such as the privacy issue with Facebook and the loss of data from websites, such as the job site Monster.
With the current financial climate still taking its toll on people, it is believed that privacy issues should be on the minds of all users of the internet.
