The Simpsons is about to become the longest running TV series in US history after Fox ordered two more seasons.
The animated series, which started in the US during 1989, was first shown on Sky One the following year.
The show quickly became a favourite on both sides of the Atlantic and will break the long term series record in the US but it has a long way to go in the UK.
This is great news for customers of Sky TV, as new episodes of the series are shown a week after they are shown on Fox in the US.
The twenty first series is due to start production in the autumn of this year and the 22nd series will be shown next year.
Forty four new episodes will be made over the two series; this takes the total up to around 493.
