Over ninety per cent of UK homes will be getting a broadband connection of around 32 Mbps by 2019, according to the research firm Point Topic.
In the report, Point Topic goes on to say that the Communication Minister’s plans for the universal service commitment (USC) will be the base from which next generation broadband will be launched, to drive broadband growth for the next ten years or so.
It goes on to say that access to high speed internet services is now essential, not just for business users but for households too.
This is why there should be no further delays in rolling out next generation broadband, but it cannot simply stop there as the UK broadband network is in need of continual development.

This is a completely stupid idea; it clearly hasn’t been thought out. Do they not realise that technology moves on?
Think about it… broadband was a new thing in 2000 (I think) yet here we are today not even 10 years down the line, with fibre optic broadband from Virgin Media offering 50mbps.
But they say in another 10 years we’re supposed to get 24mbps? Time will move on and thus will technology, so in 2019 we’ll still be behind the likes on the USA in terms of broadband.
24mbps is plenty Im sure, but nobody knows how demanding things will be in 2019, we may all be streaming HD TV through our internet connections, so will 24mbps be enough?
Maybe Im thinking too deep about this, I just think if they are going to update the technology in this country they should hurry up and do so.
32 MB is a laugh why not 1024 MB like Japan has right now
