BT’s slow 21CN work could threaten next gen broadband

It looks as if some of the industry’s experts are blaming slow motion BT for the lack of pace in rolling out BT 21CN, which in turn could threaten the future rollout of next generation broadband networks.

According to the phone and broadband provider TalkTalk, if BT is not able to deliver the BT 21CN service in good time, the rollout of super fast broadband services will be delayed even further than it has been already.

BT claims that it is in the process of tackling this mammoth task, but because of its size and complexity it will probably fail to reach the initial target of completion in 2010.

However, BT also mentions that the completion of BT 21CN will not have any effect on the rollout of other next generation broadband network, as it is already selling next-generation products to other communications providers.
