Facebook suffers another Koobface attack

The social networking site, Facebook, must have really come of age, as once again the site has come under attack from the infamous Koobface virus, which tries to steal information from users through their profile pages.

This attack first came to light during December of last year when users were targeted with a video that appeared to have been sent from one of their friends.

When the user tries to play it, they are asked to download a plug-in; the normal way of installing a virus onto a computer.

This will then install malware onto the computer that can mean the computer being used as zombie machine and, even more serious, the hacker can read information.

This is a potential nightmare for Facebook and it is more so for the users of the social networking site.
