Sky One’s “Gladiators” goes green

Sky TV has been making a real move to cut the energy emissions throughout the company’s departments.

It has already downloaded green software to set top boxes that make sure the auto standby has been activated and attention is being targeted at the Sky One hit show “The Gladiators.”

A show like this uses huge amounts of resources.

During the show, vast amounts of lighting, transport, water, catering and energy are used and there are plenty of places ideal for cut backs, but this has to be done in a way that does not affect the show itself.

The programme is the first to take the measures of undergoing a green audit and putting into practice its recommendations.

Because of this, the show has managed to cut back on its energy consumption by thirty five per cent.
