Toshiba chooses Freeview for HD TVs

Toshiba has been showing off its latest range of high definition TV’s for the UK market, but even more interesting than that is what they have in the pipeline.

As expected the company has chosen to include Freeview HD, which will be already installed in its TVs.

Obviously there was a choice between the two free digital TV services, and unfortunately for Freesat, Toshiba has chosen to go with Freeview.

The company is planning to be selling these new televisions, with Freeview HD ready-to-go, within twelve months.

Toshiba has no plans to enter the competition to provide Freesat-ready TV’s.

This would place it in competition with old rival Panasonic, which is the only TV manufacturer to produce TVs with Freesat already installed.

The advantage of going for Freeview is that the user will not require any cable connection or satellite dish in order to enjoy the HD experience.
