By the end of the year, it is being estimated that around twenty per cent of all mobile broadband subscribers will be on a contract that can be terminated with just thirty days notice.
This follows the introduction of such contracts within the fixed line broadband market.
Currently there is only one mobile broadband provider offering this thirty day termination notice and that is O2, but this type of contract is looking likely to be taken up by other providers as competition within the sector picks up.
There were many deals and offers last year where a mobile broadband contract was tied into a deal with a mini laptop.
These contracts were often twenty-four months long and many users still have a long time to go before they can move to another service.
