Commercial terrestrial television may be in trouble, but who is to blame?
Former head of the BBC, Greg Dyke, feels that Michael Grade has to take responsibility, in part at least.
Dyke was openly critical of Michael Grade in an interview for The Times newspaper, and ITV and Grade are demanding an apology.
With hundreds of jobs being cut and budgets slashed at ITV, the knives are out for the leader and that happens to be Michael Grade who took on the role in 2007, after leaving the BBC with knowledge of the broadcaster’s future plans.
ITV is now armed with this information which is of no use when the house is falling down around you, but this did not stop ITV going for the FA Cup.
This was being aired by Sky Sports which is well known for going in high.
However, in this case ITV went in too heavy, and ended up paying too much for the rights.
