Worm turns routers into botnets
by David Allen

There is a problem facing users of broadband routers that could have serious consequences for users.
Anti virus expert, DroneBL, has found a Psyb0t worm that is working its way around the broadband network affecting routers.
Owners of this equipment should make sure that their hardware is ready to repel any such attack as this can mean interrupted service for the user.
The worm transforms the router or modem into a botnet, which is then used to spread the virus or steal information.
Around a hundred thousand routers have been affected so far.
Anyone who thinks that their router has been affected should get in touch with their ISP at first, but may have to conduct a hard reset of the router to clear it of the infection.
