On the 1st April, the National Geographic channel will be launching its latest HD channel exclusively on Sky HD TV.
This is the second HD channel launch for the National Geographic brand, the first being launched during February 2006.
There has been a long advertising campaign leading up to the strangely chosen launch date.
Some people may get the wrong idea about an April Fools Days launch.
The type of content offered looks good in high definition and this has been highlighted in all of the advertising that has been running.
This is a good deal for Sky, as it is attempting to remain the premier HD provider in the UK, and the only way that it will be able to hold on to the top spot is by providing more content.
