SMS Mac chooses TynTec for messaging service
UK-based messaging operator TynTec has been chosen to provide the back-end SMS capabilities for computer-to-mobile messaging service SMS Mac.

SMS Mac will use TynTec to power the SMS capabilities of its Mac OSX Dashboard widget, its Mac address book plug in, its Vista sidebar gadget, and its Windows XP Yahoo! Widget.

The company said it chose TynTec because of its global reach to 430 mobile networks in 160 countries, and because of its ‘unparalleled’ reliability.

Alco Blom, SMS Mac’s CEO, said: “TynTec offers us excellent connectivity into almost every mobile network worldwide, and that’s a major selling point for a service like ours.

“When you combine that with TynTec’s renowned reliability and great technical support, then selecting them became an easy decision for us to make.”

Michael Kowalzik, TynTec’s CEO, added that SMS is much more than handset-to-handset messaging, and that SMS Mac is a ‘fantastic demonstration’ of this philosophy in action.

Messages sent via SMS Mac are charged at a flat rate of €0.10, plus an annual subscription fee of €10.00.
