The top broadband complaints

Ask consumers what their complaints are on broadband services and there will be a number of different answers.

In order to put some order into consumers’ complaints the regulator Ofcom conducted a survey.

Migrations appeared twice in the top six results, but the issue that has generated the most complaints is “Slamming” where a customer suddenly finds out that they have been switched to another provider without their knowledge.

Complaints about migrations focused on the ‘tag on the line’ issue that normally affects new properties and can mean a long wait for a connection.

The problem with MAC codes and the length of time it takes to switch from one provider to another is another migrations’ complaint often made by consumers.

It looks like it is easier to switch back to BT at the moment than it is to switch between unbundled (LLU) providers.
