There is no doubt that the introduction of the iPlayer by the BBC changed the way that many people choose to watch their favourite TV shows.
Nevertheless, some shows are watched more than others, like the BBC show “The Apprentice”, which is a hit in its own right.
Now the reality business show has caused a record spike in BBC iPlayer traffic according to the ISP Plusnet, which has published a graph showing that two thousand of its customers watched the programme, compared with just fifty last year.
Not only is this good news for the iPlayer, it also demonstrates to content providers that consumers want to watch their favourite TV as and when they are able, and not when the schedule dictates.
