No email for some Tiscali customers

For almost a week now some customers of the beleaguered internet service provider, Tiscali, have been without an email service.

The reason for this is simple – the ISP failed to renew the domain name screaming.net.

This domain was used to provide internet access during the dial up days and was brought into the Tiscali business when the company took over World Online in 2000.

But getting things up and running again is not going to be that easy for Tiscali because it would appear that the domain name has been registered by a third party, this means that they could find it very difficult to get it back.

There are normally only two routes to resolve this issue, first the legal route, which is costly and time consuming, while the other is to buy it back from the current registrant.
