Adopting open VoIP platform boosts sales
by Alan Harten
UK based Telappliant has benefited from big sales increases of Aastra handphones.
The company credits the consumer rush toward VoIP compatible phones, and the strength of Aastra Telecom’s telephones for its sales success over the past twelve monhts.
This has led to Telappliant being named ‘SIP Handset Distributor of the Year’ by Aastra, for the third consecutive year.
Buoyed by the success achieved selling directly, Telappliant has announced plans to expand into the mobile phone distribution and sales channel, to capitalise on the trend and claim early share in the sector.
The company aims to have contracts in place with one hundred mobile product dealers by July and thus begin an aggressive sales strategy.
Once a dealer joins the programme, Telappliant will supply them with an open platform application to be loaded into each handphone sold.
Dealers will also receive a percentage of the ongoing revenue stream from each unit sold, making it a very attractive proposition.
The only question for consumers concerns the dependability and performance of the VoIP networks that their new phones will tap into.
