Freeview shopping channel makes a loss
by David Allen

The Freeview shopping channel, Ideal World Home Shopping, says that the business has stabilised after posting huge losses of £4 million in 2008.
With a new management team in place, the plan is to improve delivery times and, more importantly, increase the amount of product lines offered to customers.
In order to address the concerns of customers the firm has brought back its call centres from India to the UK.
This is a major problem for many firms as despite call centre operators speaking perfect English there are still some communication problems.
The company’s former management and the financial crisis were blamed for the 2008 losses.
The shopping channel broadcasts exclusively on Freeview which limits its customer base to set top box users, but as more households switch over to digital its market should increase.
