There have been rumours that some internet service providers are considering pulling out from any deal that they may have with the targeted advertising service Phorm.
However, these rumours have been countered by Phorm who claim that BT and Virgin Media will not be pulling out from using the service, despite claims that Virgin Media is thinking of signing up with Audience Science.
The Phorm and BT secret trial issue is far from concluded, with the EU now getting involved, so it is unlikely that any firm is likely to add Phorm to its network while this potential problem is still up in the air.
Phorm has recently seen Amazon and the Wikimedia Foundation opt out of the firm’s scanning system being used on their websites, although Phorm says that it intends to win these customers back.
