The micro blogging site Twitter has gained some popularity over the last few months, mainly due to the amount of celebrities that are keen on tweeting, no matter where they are or what they are doing.
Yet for the ordinary user Twitter seems to lose its shine within the first month.
According to research carried out by Nielsen Online, it has been found that micro bloggers soon lose interest in having to write short and snappy posts and around sixty per cent of new users fail to return after the first month.
This retention rate of around forty per cent is about half that of other social networking sites and is a clear indication that Twitter needs to do something more in order to stop that valuable block of users leaving after a matter weeks.
