HTC’s much anticipated Magic smartphone has launched in the UK on Vodafone’s website and in Vodafone stores.
The Android-powered handset is available free on a two year, £35 per month contract, including 600 minutes talktime, unlimited texts, and unlimited Internet access.
Features of the Magic include a 3.2-inch touch screen, and trackball navigation.
Powered by a Qualcomm MSM7201a 528MHz processor, there’s 512MB RAM inside, as well as 192MB ROM and a microSD card slot – for which Vodafone bundles in a 2GB memory card.
Connectivity comes via HSDPA, for downloads of up to 7.2Mbps. This is backed up by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.
Internal GPS antenna, digital compass, 3.2 megapixel camera, and video and audio support are also included.
Dimensions are 113 x 55 x 13.65 mm, weight 118.5g, and the 1340 mAh Lithium-ion battery provides 420 hours standby and 450 minutes talk time.
In related news, Samsung’s first Android handset, the I7500, is due to launch next month.
