Spectrum deadline passes with no resolve

It looks as if the spectrum deadline has been and gone.

No news about it means that nothing has come from the meetings and discussions that were supposed to relieve mobile phone operators Vodefone and O2 of the 900 MHz spectrum, in order for the government to proceed with its digital Britain plan.

With the deadline passing and no apparent agreement between the regulator Ofcom and the mobile phone operators, who have not been best pleased with the plans in the first place, the problem now for the mobile phone providers is that the government could quite easily come back at them with an offer they simply cannot refuse.

As this is part of a national plan to bring digital technology to the entire UK, anything can happen.
