The Office has been doing the rounds in the US by being carried on BBC America, but now the Turner Organisation has managed to acquire the original BBC made series for its older viewer block known as Adult Swim.
The series will be shown on the Cartoon Network night time block, which is aimed at the young adult group of viewers, opening a completely new market for The Office series, originally created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.
The broadcaster has bought both series of The Office as well as the Christmas Special.
The US already has its own successful version of the show starring Steve Carell produced by NBC.
This is the second big purchase of UK produced material for Adult Swim, as the Mighty Boosh has already been screened in the US.
