Freesat is one year old

The UK’s only free-to-air digital satellite TV service, Freesat, is celebrating its first anniversary and to mark the occasion it has announced that there are 400,000 satisfied customers.

Freesat offers around seventy hours peak time HD programming each and every week.

In fact the BBC and ITV HD service has been on the air for around three thousand hours.

From the customer’s point of view this service has gone down well and Freesat claims that around ninety per cent of its subscribers would be willing to recommend Freesat to their family and friends.

There is one little spoiler in the Freesat celebrations – the broadcaster initially claimed that by the end of 2008 it would have around two hundred channels, but currently there are only around a hundred and forty available.
