SMS costs up to 85% less on WeROK
A new Wi-Fi mobile portal launched this week offering text messages at up to 85% cheaper compared with standard network rates, and free mobile phone services.

WeROK, a joint venture between mobile app business ROK Entertainment and global Wi-Fi network WeFi, offers a range of mobile services, including low-cost SMS, mobile email, free mobile TV, and mobile social networking.

WeROK’s Internet connection is powered by WeFi, a community driven global WiFi service that automatically connects to the best available free WiFi network.

Over 20 million Wi-Fi networks are currently available to WeFi users.

Jonathan Kendrick, chairman and CEO of ROK Entertainment, said: “WeROK is a unique development and a giant leap forward in mobile and web convergence.

“It’s an advertising-funded mobile services application which enables handsets to automatically and seamlessly access Wi-Fi zones in order to route mobile activities via the Internet.”

Zur Feldman, WeFi CEO, added: “WeFi is thrilled to be working with ROK Entertainment.

“WeROK enables users to enhance their mobile entertainment and communication activities, all the time utilizing a PC-like Internet experience over a mobile phone.”

WeROK is available for free download from www.werok.net.

Currently, it’s only compatible with Wi-Fi enabled Symbian S60 mobile phones, i.e. Nokia‘s E-series and N-series handsets.

Do they really think the people who own these types of handsets are looking to reduce their SMS costs???!!?

Another useless product from ROK. How they’re not completely bankrupt yet is beyond me, I would love to meet the person stupid enough to invest in these ridiculous ideas.
