Gadgets can ruin a Wi-Fi connection according to a report carried out for the telecom regulator Ofcom.
It seems that the worst offenders are baby monitors and TVs, when it comes to being connected in the city or town.
In the survey of Wi-Fi users across the UK it was found that many users believed the main reason for slow or unsteady connections were due to the amount of user on the network at one time, but in fact interference is the main cause of Wi-Fi slow down.
It turns out that devices that uses the 2.4 GHz band will interfere with the Wi-Fi connection.
Test show that Wi-Fi networks are fully capable of taking more traffic than they currently are, but while there is interference affecting the network, Wi-Fi is going to have a hard time encouraging new users.
