Babelgum and Cinetic present Rage

Bablegum, the IPTV service and Cinetic Rights Management are releasing Rage, a film by Sally Potter, online and on mobile, to coincide with the traditional media release worldwide in the latter half of this year.

Rage’s impressive cast list includes Simon Abkarian, Steve Buscemi, Lily Cole, Judi Dench, Eddie Izzard, Jude Law, John Leguizamo and Dianne Wiest.

It is set in a New York fashion house, and focuses on a blogger shooting behind-the-scenes interviews with a diverse mix of characters, on his cell-phone over a seven day period.

Karol-Martesko Fenster, who manages Babelgum’s film division, said the landmark deal “highlights the true potential of online and mobile acting as complementary platforms in an overall distribution strategy”.

Babelgum will split the film into a series of episodes, each one being released to coincide with the film’s release in each territory.
