Sky in talks with Channel Four over sales merger

In order to save money, it is rumoured that satellite provider BSkyB is looking to join forces with rival broadcaster Channel Four in order to pool their resources in the advertising sales department.

The idea is that both firms could merge their sales teams into one and in the process save millions of pounds.

This would seem to be a particularly good idea for Channel Four, which is in the process of looking at ways to save cash.

But it seems that Channel Four could be attempting just too many deals in one go.

It is already planning a tie up with the BBC and could be in danger of being picked apart by larger rivals, who could take the best bits and leave the rest to get on with it.
